Gift Wrap


We can wrap your gift in our signature white or black box with black ribbon or black wrapping paper and black ribbon for an additional cost of $5.00 per item. Please check GIFT WRAP in the shopping cart.

Methods of Payment


We accept Visa®, Mastercard®, American Express® and Discover®. Sorry, we do not accept cash, checks or money orders.

Sales Tax


State sales tax of 9.75% will be applied to orders shipped to addresses in Los Angeles County, California. Sales tax of 7.25% will be applied to orders shipped to all other addresses in California. Sales tax rates vary from county to county in California and an additional tax may be applicable in your county. It is your responsibility to pay any additional taxes over 7.25%. Food and tea are not subject to sale tax in the state of California. Sales Tax will not be applied to out-of-state orders.

Shipping Information


Orders on in-stock items usually ship within 48 to 72 hours of payment verification.

You will be notified within two business days if items you ordered are out of stock. We will advise you of the estimated in-stock date and you will be able to maintain or cancel the order at that time.

All shipments valued under $100 are sent with a "signature release", which means that the package will be left at the door if someone is not available to sign for it. We are not responsible for any loss or damage resulting from packages left unattended. All shipments over $100 in value will require a signature.

Chocolate, food and tea can be damaged by sun and heat. We highly recommend Next Day Air for all chocolate, food and tea orders, especially during the spring, summer and early fall months. If you choose not to send your chocolate, food or tea Next Day Air, Algabar Home & Life will not be responsible for the condition in which your product arrives. We will not authorize a credit to replace melted chocolate or food damaged by heat if you do not choose Next Day Air. Depending on which part of the country you live in, we will only ship chocolate, food and tea items on Monday through Thursday.

Please check your delivery information carefully. If your address is incomplete or inaccurate, and your package is returned to us, you will be charged an additional shipping fee once the address is verified.

Delivery dates are estimates only and do not take into account holidays or adverse weather conditions.

Once your order is shipped we will email a shipment tracking number. All shipments will be insured for the value of the contents. We are not responsible for damages during shipment. Please see returns and refunds below for more details.

We can not ship to P.O. boxes. We ship only to the United States and do not ship internationally at this time. If you would like items shipped internationally, please call our store to speak with someone about your options.

We would be delighted to customize one of our complimentary gift cards with the message of your choice. You may write your message for the card during check-out.

Cancelation Policy


Once your order is finalized in the online shopping cart it cannot be canceled for any reason. If a delivery attempt is made and a package is refused, you will be charged a penalty which will include, but is not limited to, additional shipping and/or restocking charges.

Refund and Return Policy


Your satisfaction with our products and service is important to us. We make every effort to select and sell products that are of the highest grade and quality. Every product we sell comes to our warehouse first and is inspected by our team before it is packaged and sent to you.

If there is a problem with your order, please contact us immediately by phone, fax or email so that we can promptly resolve it for you.

You have the following choices when you decide to return an item:

Refund - Total refund minus any shipping costs.

You must contact a customer service representative for a return authorization before you ship the item to us.


Please allow 5-7 working days for processing after we receive your return.


Credit – You may select to take a credit as opposed to a refund. We will issue a gift certificate for the credit amount, and you will be able to redeem it at any time on – line.

Replacement – Under some circumstances, a replacement may be in order. We will ship the replacement within 5-7 working days after we receive your return.

We are unable to offer you any form of refund, credit or replacement after 30 days.

We can not accept returns of food or tea.

We highly recommend that you return items using UPS or Fed Ex. You must insure the return package for the full value of the items as you will be responsible for the return shipment and any resulting damages. All returns must be pre-paid. We can not accept COD returns.

Merchandise MUST be returned in its original condition, in the original packaging, when applicable. If the outer packing box appears damaged in any way, we highly recommend that you replace the box before you return the item to us.

Full refunds (less shipping fees) will be issued if merchandise is returned prepaid in its original condition within 30 days. Credit card orders receive refunds in the form of a credit to the card.

Shipment Damages


If, when your order arrives, any or all items are damaged, contact one of our customer service representatives immediately either by phone, email or fax. Our customer service representative will notify the carrier and follow their procedures to claim insurance for damages. The carrier may or may not require a visual verification of damaged goods as per their policy.


It is your responsibility to make sure you hold onto any damaged items as well as all of the packaging, including the interior stuffing and outer shipping container, should the carrier wish to inspect the damage. It is also your responsibility to be available for the inspection per the carrier request.


The carrier must approve the damage and issue any refunds to us before a replacement or credit can be issued to you. If the carrier issues a refund, you will have the choice to be credited for the purchase or to receive a replacement.
